Anvil Steel Engineering (ASE) was founded by owner and operator Lamont Davis, a former U.S. Marine. After serving active duty in Desert Storm, Davis developed an interest in ironworking and started a career with the Local Union #7. Davis’ civilian career included many years working on many projects throughout New England, dating back to the big dig. Davis founded Anvil Steel Engineering in 2014 in response to an industry demand for businesses that value their workers and support their professional development, as well as an equal need for contractors committed to delivering high-quality work.

ASE has adopted the Kaizen method of practicing business. From the Japanese word for “improvement,” Kaizen is a concept whose application in business refers to a consistent effort to improve operations and practices to result in better products and minimal waste. At ASE, the Kaizen strategy allows employees at all levels to work together proactively to achieve continuous improvements in construction processes.
